Day 7 of #Arttrober is Maetel of the manga/anime Galaxy Express 999.
This is a real oldie compared to most of the character prompts I've encountered on Arttrober's anime track over the years. Are there any old-school manga/anime fans who want to tell me about Galaxy Express 999? Is it a classic?
Okay... if I upload a video clip, Mastodon will not loop it... but if I convert it to a gif, Mastodon will convert it *back* to a video clip and loop it...
Feels like there should be a better way to do this.
edit: Mystery Solved: @scy pointed out that if there is no audio track, videos will loop. (Looks like bsky also has this behaviour, but Discord and Slack do not)

Day 4 of #Arttrober is Kusanagi Motoko from Ghost in the Shell.
Ghost in the Shell is an old favourite of mine, specifically the Stand Alone Complex anime series, so that's the version of Motoko I decided to draw.

Another picture from my collection has a very similar look and is very cool (AE86 Trueno, anyone?) but doesn't have quite the same vibe.
I don't know why I love the vibe of this picture (which was one of my random background wallpapers this morning), but I do. There's just something about it... the early morning, maybe after a long nighttime drive, and stopping to make some coffee with a little camp stove out of the back of an old classic car... it's something I would have done when I was younger... I just love it. (Sadly I have no idea if it comes from an actual anime or who the artist is.)
