Emeritus Prof Christopher May
Music from the 1970s that remans timeless, no.11

Ace. How Long

This classic of London pub rock was Ace's only major hit, but is a stone cold classic. Driven by a pulsing bass line with a relaxed evening feel & a conversational vocal, it sets out the age old subject of infidelity. The guitar solo reveals its pub rock origins, but the simplicity & infectious lilt defy those origins. Sadly, Ace were never able to duplicate this three & half minutes of genius!

#70sMusicForToday #music
