We're now running Mastodon 2.5.0. Some highlights:

We have experienced some downtime again today, due to network issues in our provider's data center. Again, if your timelines are not up to date, they should update within the next few minutes.

It seems that a planned router replacement yesterday led to some unintended problems. Meaning we may see more connection failures until they're on top of the situation. Please be patient, we cannot do much about this ourselves! Thanks and sorry.

We had a small hickup, resulting in timelines not having updated for an hour or so. Everything solved and if your timelines are still a bit stale, they'll update within the next few minutes. Sorry about that.

We're closing registrations for a while, due to spambots invading the instance recently. If someone you know is looking for an instance, you can ping us for invites.

Hopefully this is just a temporary measure. Thanks for understanding.

Good news, everyone! We're on Mastodon v2.4.2 now. It contains major improvements for language filtering and detection. Head to https://kosmos.social/settings/preferences to set both the default language for your own toots (helps with false detection of very short posts), as well as the languages you'd like to see in your timeline.

The fediverse is still growing steadily. We're now federating with 1620 other instances. 🚀

One notable new feature is that you can add up to 4 different label/value pairs of extra information to your profile. Check out https://kosmos.social/settings/profile to add yours.

We're upgrading kosmos.social to the latest version of Mastodon within the next half hour. There might be hickups, or not. Fingers crossed.

Our server was down for around 45 minutes, due to a power supply issue at our hosting provider. We are now back, we are sorry about the downtime

We're terribly sorry for home timelines not having updated for the last 11 hours. Our database connection pool got overloaded somehow, and we didn't notice. Timelines are being rebuilt as we speak, and you should see new toots coming in, either already or very soon.
